Wike Reveals What He Told Adeleke to Do With His Certificate of Return
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has revealed that he advised Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, to take his Certificate of Return to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following his victory in the governorship election.
Wike disclosed this while speaking about Adeleke’s recent political engagements and his relationship with the President.
According to the FCT Minister, he asked Adeleke to present the certificate to Tinubu after securing another term in office.
Adeleke was declared winner of the Osun State governorship election after defeating the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Oyebamiji.
Following the election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presented Adeleke and his deputy with their Certificates of Return.
The governor subsequently visited President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where he presented his Certificate of Return to the President.
Adeleke later met with Wike, with the two politicians pictured together during the visit.

Wike said Adeleke’s decision to meet with Tinubu was in line with the advice he had earlier given him.
The FCT minister has continued to maintain that political alliances and realignments are taking shape ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He has also expressed support for President Tinubu’s expected bid for another term, while urging political leaders to work together.
Wike’s comments come amid growing discussions over the political realignment ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Adeleke’s meeting with Tinubu
During his visit to the Presidential Villa, Adeleke expressed appreciation to Tinubu for what he described as the President’s role in ensuring a peaceful and credible electoral process in Osun State.
The meeting attracted attention because of the political implications surrounding the governor’s relationship with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), his political allies and the growing camp around President Tinubu.
Adeleke’s victory has also increased his influence within Osun politics as he prepares for another four-year term.
